A heart may be wrapped up in roses And trimmed with some mighty fine bows; Or a heart may be broken in sorrow For reasons....God only knows. A heart may be kindled with hatred And lined with a harness of stone; Or a heart may be bursting with passion From which seeds of affection are sown. A heart my be strong as a lion's. Expanding with honor and trust; Or a heart may be shriveled in treason, Deceiving all that is just. A heart may be bold with adventure And imbued with clouds of romance; Or a heart of a bona fide skeptic May believe, but given the chance. A heart may be various and sundry things As we pass through this live dark or fair; But one think is perfectly certain, A heart must be handled with care! |
